France: Part II

We took a train from Paris, France to Disneyland Paris!! Our dear friends, the Smurthwaites, from our last ward met us there with their boys. We played all day long and ended the day with the fireworks show at the park. It was so much fun.

Jedi Training. Eliot asked me the next day if I would be his Jedi Master and teach him my skills.

We played so hard that someone fell asleep on the bus back to the hotel. It was too cute.

The next day we took a train with the Smurthwaites back to Lyon, France where they currently live. The French country side is so beautiful and it was probably my favorite train ride that we took. We got settled in that night, and Marissa taught me how to make crepes. They make crepes every Sunday night and we were so happy that our trip fell over a Sunday. If you haven't had Marissa's famous Sunday crepes, you're seriously missing out.

Marissa and Dave were the best hosts. They took us all over Lyon. We explored all of the little towns near their home, bought some fresh juice from a local vineyard, ate so much food and ended every night with the little french smurfs. Marissa and Dave would probably be offended if I tried to spell the names of all the places we went. So I will just post a lot of pictures instead.

Some of the best parts of our trip were the meals we ate. Marissa and Dave took us to a Michelin rated restaurant and it was to die for.

Come on. Look at this place. It was incredible.

Dave was our bishop in our last ward. Marissa was also my visiting teacher. These two individuals are as solid as they come. They work hard, and play even harder. They have set the ultimate example for Ian and I. We look up to them more they they know. They remind us that there is so much good in this world and that we have the ability to make all of those around us feel loved. They also have a love of food which is why I think we get along so well. We miss having them live so close, but man it was fun to visit them in France.

Our last meal before we left was in a cool little pop up market. Dave and Marissa ordered and I closed my eyes and ate what they had. This was my first time trying blood sausage and escargot. I think the picture tells how I was feeling at this particular moment.

Thank you Marissa and Dave for letting us experience a little part of your world!!
