Happy New Year! 2013

I am looking forward to 2013. The beginning of a new year gets me really excited for what is going to happen. I also enjoy making resolutions and looking forward to growth in the next year. Here are some things that happened during January!

My cute niece Karynn Ward turned 12. I honestly can't believe that she is old enough to be in Young Womens. Karynn is a New Years baby and she was born on 01/01/01. I think that is pretty sweet. She is such a cute girl and I love her to death. I am the luckiest Aunt in the world.
Happy Birthday!!

Ian got the pleasure of changing the breaks on my car. He was very sweet and willing to learn from my Dad how to replace breaks. He did an excellent job. Because my Dad is so good with cars and mechanical things, he usually doesn't use instructions or a manual. So when he replaces or changes things on my car he usually just does it however he wants to do it. Because he was teaching Ian though he pulled out the car manual and showed Ian how to use the instructions to change the breaks. Because of this, my Dad found out that he had been doing it wrong the entire time and that the way the manual said to do it would save him hours of having to wire the breaks so that they wouldn't hang on the ground. I guess reading the instructions is a good idea. I thought it was funny. It is fun to see my husband working with my Dad.

I had an incredible opportunity to travel to Ghana, Africa last summer. While I was there, I accidentally ripped my big toenail off of my toe. I went to the doctor when I got home and he said that the new nail would grow in and that I shouldn't have any problems...Well I did have problems. My toe did grow back, but it ended up in an ingrown toenail. I had to have it surgically removed by a toe specialist. I had to get 6 shots in my foot and then the ingrown part was cut out. After 1 month of it being cut out, I had to go back in again and get 6 more shots in my foot and have it burnt so that it would never grow back. I have never hated shots, but these hurt worse that I expected. I hope I never have this done again.
